2010 Identic-Ale

Hello all!

Its time for another Identic-Ale study!

This year, we’re going to study our locally grown Cascade hops from De Smet Farms in Los Lunas. The plan is as follows. Brew any style beer with De Smet hops as the only source of hops in the recipe. Michael De Smet has graciously offered to donate the hops for this event.

To participate in the study, do the following:

  1. Name your beer, specify your style (if any), and determine how many ounces of hops you need for the recipe, including dry-hopping.
  2. Send all this information to me by Monday February 1st, 2010.
  3. Pick up your hops at the DOA meeting on February 3rd, 2010 or make special arrangements with me.
  4. Submit to me six (6) 12oz bottles [or equivalent] of your beer by Sunday April 11th, 2010.
  5. Come to the grand tasting on Saturday April 17th, 2010 starting at 2:00pm
