Registration and Login
You must register and login to submit discussion posts and comments to this site. Login is also required to submit entries to our competitions. The site administrator is in charge of setting the privileges for a particular user and can moderate posts and comments for acceptable content. Everyone comes on as a Contributor who can offer Comments and Posts but they have to be approved.
After the administrator knows who the user is, the user will normally be given author privileges. This will allow the user to post and comment without approval of a moderator. Authors can add subcategories to the main categories but for starters we want to moderate the addition of of new main categories. These are the initial policies of the site and are subject to change - especially if there is any abuse of the site.
The site is intended to further the goals of the Dukes of Ale brew club. Any abuse of the site will result in immediate loss of privileges.
After login, the Dashboard tab in the upper right portion of the screen will provide access to your available privileges and allow you to modify your profile.
Competition Profile
Most of the competition section of your profile is optional. However, you should note:
- A mailing address is required if you want enter our competitions so that your competition results can be mailed to you.
- If you are a BJCP judge, your judge level and judge id are required in order to get credit for judging in one of our competitions.
- Professional brewers must check the pro box and indicate their professional affiliation before submitting competition entries.
An attempt is made to transfer your the competition profile information from our old site based on your Username.
Adding a Post
Adding a post is initiated by clicking on the Add New Post button in the right sidebar or by clicking on the Dashboard tab and navigating to the post menu. You can select the category for the post and you have access to a simple visual editor and html if you need to insert some links. The editor also allows the insertion of images etc.

Discussion
Discussion postings allow members to have discussions on topics of interest.
Exchange
The exchange posting category provides a simple want-ad forum for members to offer brewing related items for sale/exchange or to seek brewing items for sale/exchange.
What’s Brewin’
This category is intended to let members tell others about their current or upcoming brews. Have at it!
