BJCP Exam
By Rob Briscoe. Filed in Discussion |I know I have said on more than one occasion that I had no desire to take the BJCP judging exam but I think I am changing my mind. Is there any chance that there will be an exam given again this year? I know it has typically been around the State Fair judging, which gives me some time to beef up on my beer knowledge.

If another one is held I’d definitely take it again to try and bump up my score. I don’t think there’s an exam prep course happening this year though… seems like having one of those courses is what provides enough justification for holding an exam.

I talked to Stan about it at the State Fair judging this weekend and he’d like to schedule one, but the BJCP is limiting the number that can be registered (to 12/yr?), so our next available opportunity would be June. Apparently, Stan is moving out of State in June, so he can’t proctor the exam himself and we need Mike H or Tom H or Brad K or Tammy P or Paul F to give the exam. We also need 12 confirmed exam takers. I think Stan is still willing to help us organize the studying so that we maximize our chances of doing well.
