Come help us evaluate Sierra Nevada Glissade! (cross posted from Dukes email list)
By HerbalJoe. Filed in Discussion |Fellow Dukes:
My girlfriend Jennifer Allen has given us the opportunity to taste a
brand new beer from Sierra Nevada called Glissade, which they are
marketing as a “Golden Bock”.
http://www.sierranevada.com/beers/glissade.html
Her company (National Distribution) looking for feedback and tasting
notes from people in the area who know what they’re talking about and
I think we could easily rise to this challenge. I’ve already spoken to
a few of you and it sounds like the interest is definitely there, so I
have arranged to get the Communication Workers building (this is where
we have been gathering for monthly meetings for quite a few months)
this Sunday around 2PM. Sorry, I know this is short notice, but I
don’t imagine it will take very long, maybe an hour or two, depending
on how much socializing people want to do after the tasting. This is
our chance to help National and Sierra Nevada get some direct feedback
from their customers, and I’m pretty excited. The last I knew the beer
wasn’t out yet but it may be hitting retail shelves this week.
So, if you are interested in participating in this and feel you are
pretty good at tasting and analyzing beer, please join us at 1608
Truman Street Southeast, Albuquerque – (505) 266-5876 this Sunday the
17th at 2PM.
Also, on a slightly unrelated note, Jen will be presenting a tasting
of Rogue Ales this Friday and Saturday at both Sunflower market
locations (Friday is in the heights on Lomas & San Mateo and Saturday is on the west side on Alameda & Corrales rd).
If you like Rogue, stop by and check it out between12pm and 4pm each
day. You can get a bunch of free samples and anything you decide to
buy will help her out a bit. The samples will be Dead Guy Ale and
Yellow Snow IPA. You can get more information from her beer group:

If anyone has any questions or comments please don’t hesitate to ask.
Hope to see a bunch of you on Sunday!
Cheers,
Ben Miller

Sorry, i didn’t make it Sunday. I ended up bottling 2 beers…Flanders Red and Brettanomyces Pale Ale. It took a bit longer than desired, first time using Belgian bottles and corking!
I am very pleased with my first attempt at a Flanders Red, at least going into the bottle, will see how it is once it is carbonated. It really has a nice character with just the slightest bit of acetic acid.
