Comment on BJCP Exam by Todd Coffey http://www.mgriesmeyer.com/doatest/mn/?p=723&cpage=1#comment-180 Todd Coffey Tue, 24 Aug 2010 12:56:14 +0000 http://www.mgriesmeyer.com/doatest/mn/?p=723#comment-180 I talked to Stan about it at the State Fair judging this weekend and he'd like to schedule one, but the BJCP is limiting the number that can be registered (to 12/yr?), so our next available opportunity would be June. Apparently, Stan is moving out of State in June, so he can't proctor the exam himself and we need Mike H or Tom H or Brad K or Tammy P or Paul F to give the exam. We also need 12 confirmed exam takers. I think Stan is still willing to help us organize the studying so that we maximize our chances of doing well. Comment on Chi Company for WLP yeast – best buy by Todd Coffey http://www.mgriesmeyer.com/doatest/mn/?p=928&cpage=1#comment-178 Todd Coffey Tue, 24 Aug 2010 04:11:28 +0000 http://www.mgriesmeyer.com/doatest/mn/?p=928#comment-178 Sweet! Have you checked the prices (and freshness) at Southwest Grape & Grain? Last time I was in there, it was 6.99 per vial minus the 10% Dukes discount and you only have to pay sales-tax, no shipping. You might check them out since Kevin is providing a very reasonable local option these days. :-) I was able to pick up Wyeast French Saison, Roeselare, and two Brett cultures from him recently that were very fresh. Now that the State Fair judging is over, maybe I'll get a chance to use this yeast! Anyway, just plugging our local shop(s). :-) Todd Sweet!

Oddly enough, the beer I thought would medal didn't. I didn't think the one that did was that great either... Oh well, can't complain My first competition and I won silver!
